Cabinets and doors are in! We are putting the finishing touches on the kitchen office.
In the master suite, we have finished all of the stone, granite and tile; hidden below the travertine floor is in-floor radiant heat to warm your feet on winter mornings.
One of my favorite features is the entryway fireplace which greets you as you pass through the front door.
Finally, check out that view of frozen Shadow Mountain Lake from the master suite balcony!

The wire-brushed alder floors have been sanded, sealed and stained and they look beautiful! The masons have been working diligently at laying the stone around the three fireplaces. The standing seam metal roofing has been installed on all the lower roofs, which really makes this house stand out from the crowd.

This month the house started to show some of its unique features. All of the closets have been built out with ample shelving. Many other built-in features are located throughout the house. We found an amazing tree w/ a split trunk to accent the log staircase. The tile installers began laying the slate floors in key locations in the house. Another nice feature of this home is that none of the HVAC equipment is in the crawlspace. Conveniently it is placed in a utility room off the 3-car garage.

We were really moving this month! The electrical is in. Four inch mini-cans are positioned throughout the home for ample lighting. The drywall is complete on the first floor. The closed-cell foam and fiberglass insulation has been installed. It's very impressive stuff and necessary for those snowy Grand Lake winters!
As you can see, the exterior of the house has an artful blend of cedar shingles, board and batten, and lap siding. The master balcony has been built in a timber frame style and looks very impressive.

Roof Raising Party
The Roof Raising Party is a Grand Lake Land / Bighorn Building Services tradition. The party is a big hit with all the construction crews and suppliers involved with the project. We celebrated the roof going on with a BBQ, and the weather held out long enough to make it a good time for our hardworking team.

Site clearing and surveying began on Shadow Lake Villas, Lot 4 in early June. The guys were pretty happy to spend the summer working on Shadow Mountain Lake!
As you can see, this home is built on steel piers combined with a french drain system which provides a better foundation for lakefront construction.
